Khonnect Studio OÜ is registered in Estonia, and our first live product, CalKit, is used mostly by people in Korea. That combination raises a fair question: why build from one place for users in another? The short answer is that a small software studio no longer has to choose between a stable, digital-first home base and building for the markets it understands best.

The name is the thesis

Khonnect comes from คน (Khon) — the Thai word for person — and Connect. It is a deliberate reminder that every product we ship is ultimately about a person trying to get something done: understand a payslip, price a loan, run a shop, sign a contract. Technology is the means; the human on the other side is the point. Starting from that view changes what you build. You optimize for clarity and trust, not for how many features you can list.

Why Estonia

Estonia has spent two decades building one of the most digital-first public and business environments in the world. For a small studio, that translates into practical advantages: company administration that happens online, clear rules, and access to the European market. It lets a tiny team spend its energy on the product rather than on paperwork — which is exactly where a small team's energy should go.

Why Asian markets

East and Southeast Asia are among the most dynamic digital economies anywhere, but they are not interchangeable. A calculator that is genuinely useful in Korea has to speak the language, reflect local tax and pension rules, and match how people actually search for answers. That kind of local fit cannot be faked with a translation layer. So instead of building one generic product for everyone, we build focused products that fit a specific market well — starting with Korea, where CalKit's 300+ everyday calculators cover the salary, tax, real-estate, and health questions people ask most.

Small and focused, on purpose

We are deliberately a lean, developer-led studio. That shapes how we work:

  • Ship when it is ready, not before. We would rather run a few products well than launch many thin ones. CalKit and Khonnect Sign are live; the rest stay in development until they are genuinely ready.
  • Accuracy over volume. For anything involving money, tax, or health, a wrong number is worse than no number. We keep calculations current and explain what they assume.
  • Clean, fast, honest interfaces. No dark patterns, no inflated claims. If something is an estimate, we say so.

Where we are headed

The plan is to grow deliberately, one market and one product at a time. Korea is where we are live today; Southeast Asia is where our next products are aimed. Estonia stays home base. If you are curious about what we are building, the best place to start is CalKit itself — and if you want to talk, we are always reachable.
